New postdoctoral researchers join ADEPT programme
The ADEPT team welcomes two new postdoctoral research fellows, Simon Reeves and Yasir Noori.
Simon joins the electrochemistry team after recently submitting his PhD thesis to the University of Edinburgh. Simon's thesis entitled "Development of Electrochemical Sensing in Nuclear Pyroprocessing: A Study of the Cerium-Aluminium Binary System with Macro- and Microelectrodes" chronicles his experiments in molten salt electrochemistry as part of the REFINE project, another large consortium project which is focussed on processing of waste products from nuclear power generation. Simon will be using his electrochemical expertise to study nanoscale deposits of indium and antimony.
Yasir joins the programme from the University of Lancaster where he was working on GaAs particle detectors for ATLAS. This work follows his PhD studies on experimental quantum communications. Yasir has experience in nanofabrication, e-beam lithography, and molecular beam epitaxy, and will be using his experience to develop novel phase change memory and infrared technologies.
