MsC Eng students at Southampton - put your UAV to the test - in Portugal!
The use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) in farming is an up-and-coming industry, still in its infancy but thanks to an interdisciplinary collaboration coming out of the work of the University's Autonomous Systems strategic research group, students on one of our MsC. Eng . courses have a unique opportunity. Southampton’s Centre for Biological Sciences have crop irrigation trials lined up on a commercial farm in the south of Portugal this summer and want two of you to join us!
The successful applicants will get their flights, food and accommodation covered, for the 3-4 days of their stay in Portugal. They will be working alongside a second year Biological Sciences Ph.D. student to form a team to determine the best choice of flight path, height and time to gather data which will contribute to the main project. They will gain unique addition to their CVs and a chance to test their own work in a new environment and scenario. Oh, and a free trip to Portugal!
