From January until May 2022, Faculty International Office (FIO) has been working very closely with our agent HandsOn Thailand on a Social Media campaign to promote the School of Economics, Social and Political Science (ESPS), Southampton School of Mathematics (SMS) and Southampton Business School (SBS).

As part of this campaign, on 17 February 2022 FIO and our former Associated Dean of International (ADI) attended an Alumni session. Dr Rob Angell gave a brief introduction of our Faculty of Social Sciences and Thai Alumni shared their experiences with applicants during and after their time in Southampton.

After this session, FIO organised a multidisciplinary session on 22 March 2022. The session consisted of:

  • An introductory session about the University, Faculty of Social Sciences & the recent India week by Miriam Gomez Lopez
  • What makes MSc in Strategic Operations and Supply Chain Management exceptional and a Mini Taster Lecture on: how to achieve carbon neutrality via multi-tier supply chain management by Dr Yu (Jack) Gong
  • What makes MSc Data and Decision Analytics exceptional and a Mini Taster Lecture on: Optimization in Data Science , by Dr Hou Duo Qi
  • What makes MSc Finance and Economics exceptional a Mini Taster Lecture on: “Debt, Economic Growth and Pandemics – 21st Century Economics” by Dr Jan Podivinsky
  • Q&A session

Promotions are still ongoing with HandsOn on their Social Media platforms and we look forward to meeting those Thai Students that will join us in September!
