SBS alumnus receives prestigious India UK Achievers Honour
Mr. Kaushal Shah (MSc. Global Entrepreneurship, 2015) was one of two Southampton alumni awarded at the India UK Achievers Honours ceremony, which was hosted by the National Indian Students and Alumni Union UK (NISAU) on 25th January in central London.
The Honours marked 75 years of India’s independence and recognised 75 young Indian alumni who have made substantial contributions to their fields. Kaushal was supported at the ceremony by Josie Love (ODAR), and Amarjit Singh (India Centre and India Business Group).
Kaushal Shah received an award for his work in the fields of Business and Innovation. Kaushal is founder and CEO of envoPAP – a UK-based company creating innovative and circular packaging solutions to reduce unnecessary deforestation and air pollution and maximise the usage of waste. Kaushal came up with the idea for EnvoPAP whilst studying at Southampton and has since gone on to be honoured by Forbes magazine in their 30 under 30 list for Europe. Kaushal continues to support the University, giving his time and expertise to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs.
Speaking about the Honours, Professor Jane Falkingham, VP International and Engagement said:
“We are immensely proud of Kaushal and Reshma for being recognised as outstanding young achievers for their contributions to their fields. Their achievements demonstrate the incredible potential of our international students, and the importance of international study opportunities to improve and advance science and society.”
In addition to the India UK Achievers Honours, the University will be celebrating the significant contributions of our alumni to society, industry or the University community at our annual Outstanding Alumni Awards, which will take place in summer 2023.
