The University of Southampton

Competition: design ideas wanted!

The University is building new Chemical Engineering facilities including a virtual control room, laboratories and a computer suite. We want your ideas for how to decorate these spaces with chemical-engineering themed artwork.

If we use your entry in the final artwork you’ll receive a £50 Amazon voucher.

If you have any questions please email Admissions Tutor Nuno Bimbo at [email protected] .

What are we looking for?

The spaces we’ll be looking to fill with artwork are walls and windows in the new Chemical Engineering study spaces. The artwork should represent the field of chemical engineering, and add to the modern, sophisticated feel of the Chemical Engineering spaces.

We’re not looking for complete design work, but ideas that we can incorporate, tweak and scale up as needed. For example, you might suggest an abstract molecule, a piece of chemical engineering equipment, a substance or equation. If your idea relates specifically to something we do here at Southampton, even better!

To give you a flavour of what we’re looking for, here are some examples of ideas submitted for a similar competition in Chemistry, and the final artwork we created.
