Careers, Employability and Student Enterprise assist students, postgraduate researchers and graduates in developing their employability skills in order that they can embark on successful graduate careers, enterprise activities or further study.
We want to work with our academic colleagues across the University on the creation and delivery of careers input within the academic timetable that is designed to meet the needs of your students and the employability strategy of the University of Southampton.
We are happy to produce bespoke resources for you if required. Each academic department and/or faculty is linked to a Career Consultant who provides support for employability within the academic departments.
Contract research staff seeking careers advice or skills development training should contact Human Resources who have a remit and a dedicated team responsible for the continuing professional development of all staff.
MyCareer is the careers platform utilised by Careers, Employability and Student Enterprise to support students, graduates and Early Career Researchers. Students access the system with their University username and password, whilst graduates and Early Career Researchers register first and are then approved onto the system.
MyCareer features our Events Calendar in addition to a Jobs Board with part-time, vacation and graduate roles available. Students also apply to UoS Internships, Student Innovation Projects, Volunteering Bank and have access to Year in Employment opportunities on MyCareer.
All staff are able to access MyCareer via the ‘University of Southampton Staff’ section on the MyCareer homepage . Please note that staff are only able to view events on our Events Calendar for information purposes and are unable to book a place to attend an event. If you would like to attend an event, please let us know and we will be happy to discuss this.
