Do you want to find out more about entering the workplace with a disability, specific learning difference or long-term health condition? Are you interested in hearing from those who have done it before you? Want to know what support you could receive from employers?
Each academic year we run a Disability and Employability Event, where speakers from a range of organisations talk about their experiences of either working with a disability or of supporting others in the workplace.
Our most recent event took place in November 2022 and consisted of a series of presentations leading to a live panel Q&A with employers and employees from organisations including Access By Design, City Disabilities and UoS Senior Teaching Fellow Richard Cartwright. These panellists shared their experiences of working with a disability and the support offered by their employers/organisations to students with a disability, specific learning difference or long-term health condition.
Videos from our 2021 speakers are available below
Don't forget you can also book onto one of our Disability, Employability and Adjustments workshop if you are looking for advice on sharing information about a disability, SpLD or long-term health condition. You can also contact us at [email protected] for any further questions or support.
