20th Annual Chinese Teaching Conference

On October 14, 2023, the 20th Annual Chinese Teaching Conference was held at University College London (UCL). The theme of this annual conference was to look back on the achievements of Chinese language teaching in the UK over the past twenty years and to look ahead to future developments.

Dr. Zheng Ying, Director of the Confucius Institute, our Confucius Classroom teacher, Jia Li, and student, Mira, who are from Bouhunt Liphook School, attended the conference. In the academic discussion session, Dr. Chen Yuhua from the University of Warwick, along with Dr. Zheng Ying and Jia Li, focused on the A-level Chinese examination and presented a research report on its alignment with the European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The report received positive feedback from conference attendees, who believed that this research "contributes to advancing reforms in the Chinese language examination for the British A-levels."
