The University of Southampton Confucius Institute held its first teacher research discussion meeting

On October 27, 2023, the University of Southampton Confucius Institute held its first faculty research seminar. The seminar was hosted by the directors of the Confucius Institute, Dr Ying Zheng, and Ruoling Zheng, as well as our local teachers Yutian Hu and Tao Peng, volunteer teachers Jiani Li, Xiaoyi Lin, and Yutong Yin.

The Confucius Institute also invited Dr. Xinyang Lu, a postdoctoral researcher from the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Southampton, and Ye Chen, a dispatched teacher from University College London (UCL) Confucius Institute to participate and share their insights. Confucius Institute teachers focused on their original research background and areas of interest. Dr. Xinyang Lu and Mr. Ye Chen shared their current research on international Chinese education. The meeting not only enhanced mutual understanding among the teachers but also facilitated the exchange of research resources, which is of great significance for promoting research in international Chinese education within our institute.
