Let's talk about the budget?
Centre for Research in Accounting, Accountability and Governance (CRAAG) member invited to Radio Solent to participate in Sasha Twining's mid-morning show.
On Wednesday 8th March, Gavin Midgley, Teaching Fellow in Accounting and a member of the Centre for Research in Accounting, Accountability and Governance (CRAAG) was invited to Radio Solent to participate in Sasha Twining's mid-morning show to discuss possible changes that might arise from the Chancellor's budget later that day. Having undertaken a similar role for last year's budget, Gavin was very happy to accept the invitation. One of the
key items discussed was a possible increase in the rate of National Insurance contributions for self-employed workers. This change was included in the budget speech and was a major talking point in the aftermath of the Chancellor's speech.
‘I found the experience most enjoyable. Sasha and her producer Nishi were professional and made me feel very comfortable. I was pleased to receive a positive reception from my colleagues in the Department of Accounting and the media wing of the University’, Gavin said.
