Southampton team wins funding for research on coverage of longitudinal studies
A multidisciplinary team from the University of Southampton has been awarded funding for a 9-month project “Understanding coverage in UK longitudinal population studies”, using the 1970 British Cohort Study and UK BioBank as case studies.
The funding is provided by the Economic & Social Research Council and Medical Research Council under the Population Research UK initiative. One of its objectives is to increase understanding across and interchange between social science and medical communities in the understanding and management of longitudinal data resources.
The research team includes representatives from the Department of Social Statistics & Demography; the MRC Lifecourse Epidemiology Unit; and Primary Care, Population Sciences and Medical Education to give this cross-disciplinary perspective.
The project will begin in December 2023.
