Ms Anna Ruff
Learning Designer
Over the last two decades Anna has worked in education, in a variety of roles and across a range of ages. Moving from primary school teaching into further education, she settled into higher education supporting trainee teachers as a subject librarian at the University of Chichester.
Since joining Southampton in 2013 Anna has worked closely with Medicine, supporting blending learning projects including the transition to Blackboard, the development of online learning materials and the regular eCoffee sessions that promote Technology Enhanced Learning. The value of sharing good practice and real examples is something that is also at the heart of the University’s Blackboard & VLE Awards, which Anna co-ordinated culminating in a 10-year celebration in 2022, marking nearly 4000 nominations from students.
Opportunities to involve students in co-designing and creating content are a key area of interest, including running a 7-week course in which students develop digital learning resources as part of the Medical Humanities module.
