Celebrate Black History Month with SUSU and the University
The University and Students' Union are proud to join forces to celebrate Black History Month with a variety of events open to all staff and students.
This year celebrates 70 years since the Empire Windrush brought over settlers from the Caribbean to help rebuild Britain after the war. Now black culture is embedded within many areas of society and Black History Month is an opportunity for us all to celebrate this.
Black History Month provides a welcome opportunity to celebrate past achievements. It also enables us to consider next steps to embed a more inclusive, equal and racially-diverse culture at our institution.
