Though this event is fully booked, please do register on the waiting list . By doing this, we can provide you with a copy of the stats and other information that will precede the Conversation Cafe, as well as a summary of the ensuing discussions. More about Athena SWAN
The Athena SWAN charter mark is administered by the Equality Challenge Unit (ECU). To date, Athena SWAN has focussed on the careers of women in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine (STEMM) disciplines, awarded at both institutional and departmental levels.
Key factors in assessment include recruitment and turnover, career development (promotion, appraisals and training), flexible working, workload modelling, contract type, and maternity/paternity cover.
From April 2015, the existing Athena SWAN charter will expand to include arts, humanities, social science, business and law departments alongside STEMM disciplines. Its scope will also extend to professional and support staff, honorary staff and some atypical staff such as visiting lecturers.
Finding the Hartley Suite
This is at the back of the Staff Social Centre (B38). From the main entrance, by the green area roughly opposite Hartley Library, walk through Lattes and turn left at the far end. From the side entrance near B4 (Law) and the Nuffield Theatre, walk straight through.
There is level access for wheelchair users.
