Code of Practice for Research Degree Candidature and Supervision

The Code of Practice for Research Degree Candidature and Supervision applies to all research students, regarding of year of entry. It sets out University-level policy and guidelines for Master of Philosophy (MPhil), Doctor of Philosophy and other doctoral degrees (including Integrated PhD programmes and professional doctorates) in the University.

The Code is intended to amplify and complement the Academic Regulations for Research Students and to provide a framework for all supervisory relationships. It is supplemented by policies and guidance published in the Quality Handbook or by Faculties, which are consistent with this Code but which specify more detailed procedures operating at local level.
