Dr Thomas Lloyd is Visiting Researcher within Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of Southampton.
I gained an M.Eng. degree in Naval Architecture in 2010 from the University of Southampton, including a research project concerning modelling of tidal turbines, and a group design project in the area of low-carbon shipping.
Following this I studied for a Ph.D. in computational fluid dynamics within the Fluid Structure Interactions Group at the University of Southampton. The project concerned modelling noise radiated by tidal turbines.
I am now a Research Engineer at MARIN, in the Netherlands,
working on hydrodynamics and hydroacoustics of propellers,
as well as Visiting Reseacher within the FSI Group.
