The UK Student Recruitment and Outreach Team delivers the University's educational liaison activities. It works with schools, colleges and communities to engage with potential students locally, regionally and nationally.
Staff within the programme are active in several university programs such as HE advisors day, access to Southampton and learn with us. Further to these activities the University offers a range of on- and off-campus activities, including campus tours, open days, taster events and Easter and summer school residentials, the team encourages students to consider progression to higher education in general and the University of Southampton in particular.
Team members also carry out visits to schools and colleges each year, attending careers and higher education fairs, and delivering presentations to thousands of prospective students on higher education and on the University of Southampton itself.
As well as having a high profile nationally, the University is also very much focused towards engagement with the local community in Southampton, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight in terms of partnership work with the community, education and voluntary sectors. We run a highly successful programme that involves recruiting, training and placing hundreds of our students in these settings as ambassadors and associates.
