Ed Cremin BSc Environmental Sciences
Environmental Designer, Atelier Ten
Hi, I'm Ed Cremin and I studied BSc Environmental Sciences within Engineering and the Environment at the University of Southampton.
I've worked on reducing the environmental impact of major award winning projects in the Middle East, the length and breadth of Britain and I can't help but think the University of Southampton might have had a little something to do with it!
At Southampton
I took a BSc in Environmental Sciences. My dissertation was on the perceived viability of liquid biofuels as a resource in reducing carbon emissions in the transport sector. One of the main reasons I came to Southampton was the staff on the ES course. They were incredibly enthusiastic about the subjects they taught. When introduced to the course, they sold it to me as an opportunity for me to make a difference in the issues I felt most pressing. They had an expectation that the students they selected were driven by the same philosophy that brought them here. They nurtured and rounded my skills and knowledge and because of that I am still in touch with them to this day!
My Career So Far
I have worked with Environmental Charities and NGO's, and helped set up Transition Towns in London and managed conservation projects in Tanzania. Since then, I took a side step career wise and took an opportunity to work with Atelier Ten, an environmental building services design consultancy, where I implement sustainability into the built environment. I've worked on reducing the environmental impact of major award winning projects in the Middle East, the length and breadth of Britain and I can't help but think the University of Southampton might have had a little something to do with it!
