Dr Kellyn Lee BSc (Hons), MRes, PhD
Research Fellow in Ageing and Dementia
I am a Chartered Psychologist and Research Fellow - Ageing and Dementia and Co-Director of the Doctoral Training Centre for Dementia Care at the University of Southampton. My research interests are in dementia care, mental health, social care, and enterprise. I am currently working on an implementation and evaluation project with two care home organisations, rolling out a new approach to dementia care which recently featured in the national press .
Material Citizenship is a training programme that instils confidence into carers and their managers, leading to empowerment and the delivery of true personalised care
I sit on the Faculty of Environmental and Life Sciences Enterprise Committee and the Wessex Dementia Strategy Group.
I am a project officer for the London School of Economics on the NIHR Enabling Research in Care Homes (ENRICH) programme.
I am a co-facilitator for the CHAIN sub-group on care homes and residential care.
I am a trustee at The Brendoncare Foundation, a not for profit organisation dedicated to improving the quality of life for older people through our care homes, close care facilities and social clubs across the South of England.
I am a keen runner and recently organised a team who walked/ran 1009 miles in 30 days, raising £2267 for Brendoncare to support their efforts in reducing isolation and loneliness for older people through COVID-19.
