The University may request a criminal records check to help us make safer recruitment and licensing decisions, and to prevent unsuitable people from working with vulnerable groups. This is generally done at the recruitment stage.
The check is processed through the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) . The DBS replaces the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA).
If you think you require a DBS check due to a change in the type of work you're involved in, you can apply for a DBS check by raising a ticket for HR on ServiceNow . Please check with your line manager before raising a ticket. If you have any queries about DBS please contact Ask HR .
