Postgraduate loans are now available for UK and EU students studying a postgraduate degree and research masters programmes.
These loans are worth up to £11,222 per student.

This scholarship is available to applicants from mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau only. The scholarship will be in the form of a tuition fee reduction and will be processed automatically by the Admissions team if you meet the criteria.
The £3,000 scholarship is offered to applicants who have been offered a place on one of the the School's master’s programmes starting September 2022. To qualify, you must meet the following criteria via any of the University’s accepted English language tests:

This scholarship provides £10,000 issued as a tuition fee reduction for an MA English Literary Studies [Postcolonial and World Literatures] student with an Indian passport. For full details on application criteria and how to apply, please visit Great Scholarships - India .
The University will apply a fee waiver - equivalent to the difference between overseas and UK fees - for eligible postgraduate research students commencing their doctoral studies in the 2024-25 academic year (including January 2025 entry) who would pay overseas fees.
The duration of the fee waiver is for the normal duration of the funding period (3.5 years) and is subject to the usual conditions of satisfactory progress.

This funding may be used in conjunction with other funding schemes, such as scholarship funding that might be available under the UKRI 30% rule , EU MSCA doctoral networks , industry, government or other schemes, as well as self-funding.
The fee waiver will be applied automatically upon admission, you do not need to apply.

British Society for the History of Philosophy
The British Society for the Philosophy of Science (BSPS) offers scholarships for doctoral work in the philosophy of science at a UK university, subject to a candidate of sufficient merit presenting themselves. Scholarships are only available to students applying to degree programmes in philosophy or in philosophy of science.
The Analysis Trust proposes to award a studentship to support a promising philosopher who does not have other means of support (e.g. a doctoral stipend, or employment as a lecturer or research fellow), and to enable them to conduct their own programme of research. The award is worth £17,375 for the academic year 2022-23.
Postgraduate Loans for Humanities Masters Students
Loans of up to £10,609 are available for students applying to Humanities Masters programmes, subject to eligibility and conditions. For more information please visit the GOV.UK website.
Postgraduate Loans for Humanities PhD Students
Loans of up to £25,000 are available for students applying to Humanities PhD programmes beginning on or after 1 August 2018, subject to eligibility and conditions. For more information please visit the GOV.UK website.
Through the University’s partnership with Santander Universities, scholarships of up to £5,000 may be available to students from Latin America, the EU and USA for any Masters programme.
Commonwealth Fellowship Funding
Commonwealth scholarships are available to students from Commonwealth countries to study a range of Masters and PhD programmes at any UK university.
These scholarships are offered to students from Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine and Syria, and are available for any one-year taught master's programme at the University of Southampton.
British Chevening Scholarships
These scholarships, funded by UK Government, are prestigious awards which enable students from over 160 countries worldwide to study a Masters programme at a UK university.
Additional sources of funding information
If your application for funding is not successful, there are a couple of possible alternatives open to you. Firstly you could consider applying for a Career Development Loan to cover the costs of your study. This is a deferred repayment bank loan to help you pay for vocational learning or education. Secondly, you could consider studying part-time instead of full-time (for those programmes which offer a part-time route). The reduction in coursework will allow you to work whilst studying to support yourself.
