Research project

iDeer

Project overview

Managing deer populations and designing planting schemes to mitigate their impacts is more important than ever, yet constitutes one of the most complex wildlife management challenges across the temperate zone. Solution focused from the outset, in partnership with a diverse stakeholder community of landowners and practitioners implementing treescape expansion, iDeer will meet this challenge by delivering a co-designed interactive decision support system to facilitate strategic woodland creation and management that minimises deer impacts on new and existing woodland and other neighbouring land uses.
