We are delighted to announce that Professor Michel Vols has been appointed as a Visiting Professor to the Law School. Professor Vols is a full professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Groningen, and an internationally renowned scholar. His research areas include housing and property law, human rights law, and legal methodology. He is currently leading the EVICT project, a research initiative funded by a 1.5 million Euros ERC Starting Grant. The project uses machine learning techniques to analyse European and domestic case law related to evictions. He is also the chair of the European Network of Housing Research housing law working group and a member of the Social Scientific Council (SWR) of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW).
Professor Vol’s appointment will strengthen the ties between the Groningen EVICT research group and the Law School’s Centre for People, Property and Community.
