The son of an Irish mother and French Canadian father, Bill Patry grew up in Marin County, California. He works for Google, but from home, away from all the real decision making, but this allows him to ride his bike, when it is not raining or snowing. He has written a lot about copyright law, way too much in fact, and he is embarrassed by both of the trade books he wrote and wishes he had a droit de rétractation.
