We work with the University’s procurement team situated in Finance to ensure that the University is complying both with UK and EU legislation on public procurement and with the University’s own Financial Regulations.
However, we also work directly with staff of the University to provide:
-
Advice and guidance on the procurement process
-
Guidance on bespoke terms and conditions of tendering contracts
-
Drafting of terms and conditions of tendering documents
-
Monitoring and approval any Official Journal notices, as appropriate, on In-Tend once the documentation is complete
-
Managing the legal aspects of the tendering process
-
Liaising with legal representatives of tenderers
-
Liaising with legal representatives of unsuccessful tenderers and representing the University in any legal challenges to the procurement process.
-
To allow Legal Services to prepare the documentation we require:
-
Full details as to what service or product is being tendered for
-
Draft specifications
-
Any conflict of interest information
-
Any other relevant information that affects the tender process
Please note that Legal Services is involved because the contract is not standard. Therefore, these contracts can take time to prepare and we will be in touch with you about timeframes for completion.
We are happy to provide awareness seminars for individual schools or services tailored to meet your needs.
