Dr David Chillingworth is a Visiting Research Fellow within Mathematical Sciences at the University of Southampton.

David held a Leverhulme Emeritus Fellowship for the 2011/12 and 2012/13 academic years. In 2013 he was co-organiser of a programme on the mathematics of liquid crystals at the Isaac Newton Institute, and in 2013/14 he took up a six-month visiting research position at the Basque Center for Applied Mathematics (BCAM) in Bilbao, Spain.

In 2016 he held a position as Simons Visiting Researcher at the Centre de Recerca Matematica, Barcelona during a three-month research program on Advances in Nonsmooth Dynamics. David continues to pursue collaborative research in bifurcation theory (in particular with relation to symmetry) and in nonsmooth dynamics.
