Featuring some of the outstanding young musicians currently studying Music at the University of Southampton, this concert should get you into the festive spirit with carol singing and Christmas songs and music, arranged by the Music Department’s final-year undergraduates.
Free admission. We would be grateful if you could register in advance using the "Book this event" link above so we have an indication of number of attendees.
Continuing the Music Department’s recent collaboration with Mencap Southampton’s Café Down the Lane, we are delighted to welcome their members to sell homemade mince pies/scones and Christmas cards as part of our Christmas Concert event. You will find them displaying café activities and selling goods in the foyer of Turner Sims from 12:30pm and also directly after the concert. There will be boxes for donations, which Mencap Southampton are always grateful to receive.
Café Down the Lane has been set up to help people with learning disabilities to learn vital work-place skills in a “real-world” environment. It is reasonably priced and welcomes regular patrons and new visitors through its doors on Wednesday lunchtimes. Southampton Mencap is found at 187a Portswood Road, located behind Coffee #1 on Portswood High Street.
