What are your major responsibilities/duties in your current role?
I am responsible for contributing to the successful delivery in a range of activities in assigned functions. This involves supporting design, implementation and monitoring solutions, planning and services as a participant in the Dyson graduate program.
What is the best part of your job?
The best parts of my job are the different challenges that await me every day.
Why did you choose the University of Southampton Malaysia?
I chose UoSM because it offers the course I am truly interested in which is Aeronautics and Astronautics.
What were the best things about studying at the University of Southampton Malaysia Campus and UK Campus?
The best things were:
- The Faculty was supportive throughout my entire degree.
- Leading edge facilities and leading experts allows students to explore areas further.
- The support and guidance from my respected supervisor.
What did you most enjoy about your degree programme?
I mostly enjoyed my Individual Project in Year 3 and my and Group Design Project in Year 4.
How did the University help prepare you for employment?
The University does provide a great learning environment. Hence, it prepared me well for my job. The University also provides CV workshops which weren’t as helpful, as I found it conservative but this is subjective and is only my view.
What advice would you give to current students to help them secure their first job?
Commit to self-learning. Skills attract employers.
Don’t be afraid to make a mistake. Every mistake made in the past can be every lesson learnt now and will be every second saved in the future
