NAMRIP members launch survey on prevention and treatment of COVID-19: How you can help
NAMRIP members at the University of Southampton are conducting an international survey about what people have done to try to prevent and treat Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic.
Covid-19 is new, so the team need to learn from everyone’s experiences. There are so many things to understand, for example:
- Why do some people develop serious illness while others don’t?
- Which preventive measures work - and which don’t?
- Which treatments work - and which don’t?
The team are collecting the experiences of thousands of people from many countries across the globe which have been affected by Covid-19. Anyone can take part in this survey, whether or not they became ill with Covid-19. The team are aiming to collect enough responses very quickly so they can come up with useful recommendations before the autumn, in case a second wave happens.
NAMRIP members are encouraged to take part as early entrants in the survey to help the team build up the database.
Why should you take part in the survey?
Everyone’s experience is helpful! The more people answer, the more the team will be able to find out about the best ways to prevent and treat Covid-19. When you complete the survey, in order to thank you for your participation, you can be entered into a prize draw.
It will be really helpful for the team to hear about the views and experiences of people aged above 65 or at increased risk for any reason (for example if they have asthma, diabetes or high blood pressure). If you have an older relative or friend who is willing to share their views but would not be able to complete the survey by themselves, then please help them to complete the questions (after speaking to them). Afterwards, you could also complete the survey for yourself if you have time.

Further information can be found on the survey website and the University of Southampton webpage on the survey .
