Second annual Philosophy, Politics and Economics Lecture
It's a great pleasure to announce that the University's second annual Philosophy, Politics and Economics Lecture will be given by Rutger Claassen of the University of Utrecht (date tbc later in the year).
Prof. Claassen's research explores the foundational values of liberal democracy and the moral value of economic institutions.
He is the author of Capabilities in a Just Society (Cambridge University Press, 2018), and leader of the Private Property and Political Power in Liberal-Democratic Societies project (sponsored by the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research) and The Business Corporation as a Political Actor project (funded by the European Research Council).
