Mrs Lucy Kozlowski (nee Hawkes) is a Trainee Clinical Psychologist within Psychology at the University of Southampton.
Trainee clinical psychologist with an interest in community psychology approaches to maximising and enhancing wellbeing, with a particular concern for physical health / long-term conditions (in particular fibromyalgia, stroke, diabetes). Also of interest is staff wellbeing, particularly within the NHS and other health and social care services.
My initial posts were held in the field of physical health, working as a neuropsychological rehabilitation assistant and neuropsychology research assistant. From there I moved into the field of mental health, working as an assistant psychologist in secondary care services such as psychological therapies services, early intervention in psychosis services and crisis teams. I also worked as a support worker in secure, forensic and psychiatric intensive care cervices.
I then moved back into physical health, working as the lead assistant psychologist in a community psychology service. In this role I specialised in pain management and developing services for long-term conditions such as diabetes, chronic fatigue, IBS, MS and stroke. My research interests link to this area, with specific interests in community psychology approaches to alleviating distress and maximising both physical and mental wellbeing.
