Research interests

Research interests: My primary research interest is Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM). I have just completed a research project exploring how breast cancer survivors use the web to make decisions about using complementary therapies. Other research interests include: mindfulness, CAM education in the UK, and the treatment of long-term conditions. My studies so far have been on chronic pain, stress, emotion, and mindfulness meditation.

Research project: Reconceptualising patient-reported outcome measures as active components of complex interventions.

Supervisors: Dr Felicity L Bishop (Psychology, University of Southampton; Dr David Newell (Anglo-European College of Chiropractic); Professor George Lewith (Primary Care, University of Southampton)

Funding body: FSHS VC Scholarship, University of Southampton with the Anglo European College of Chiropractic, the Royal College of Chiropractors, and the Southampton Complementary Medicine Research Trust.
