This well attended event organised by Public Policy|Southampton and
Kam Deo
provided a lively debate for users of British Sign Langauage to question representatives of the Leave and Remain camps. Held in the Nuffield Theatre at the University of Southampton the event was moderated by Kam Deo with Remain being represented by Zoe McWhinney (current Secretary of the
European Deaf Students Union
, and a student at the University of Birmingham, studying International Relations and Politics) and
Tom Lichy
(CEO of DeafLondon, a not for profit organisation that campaigns for the deaf community, equality and disability issues) with the Leave camp being represented by
Thomas McWhinney
(current board member for the BDA).
