The University is involved in a variety of models of education partnerships ranging from joint degrees to split-site PhDs and the offsite delivery of programmes. The Quality, Standards and Accreditation Team maintains the University’s list of it's education partnerships. This is reviewed and approved annually by the Education Partnerships Subcommittee. For further information contact the team via [email protected].
Definitions of the different types of education partnerships together with the University's overarching approach to setting up and managing such arrangements can be found in the University's Education Partnerships Policy. This section of the Quality Handbook also contains specific guidance for faculties on how to set up and review different types of arrangement, together with a suite of forms and checklists designed to facilitate the process. In addition, further information on the types of PhD partnerships including Joint and Double PhDs, can be found in the Postgraduate Research section of the Quality Handbook.
Faculties should note that programmes offered in partnership require approval and monitoring procedures which are in addition to those for programmes delivered exclusively by the University and that the development of new arrangements and renewal of existing ones can be a lengthy process. All education partnerships require formal approval through the University’s governance structure and the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement by the President and Vice-chancellor.
Progression Agreements and Enhanced Progression Agreements are not education partnerships and so have a separate approval process. More detailed information can be found in the Approval Process for Progression Agreements and Enhanced Progression Agreements .
