The Regulations Governing Special Considerations and Pause in Study for Postgraduate Research Students detail the policy and procedure that is to be followed when a student makes a request for:
Extenuating circumstances are defined as situations that are outside of a student's control that they could not reasonably have foreseen and that have (or may in the future have) a negative effect. A pause in study that is unrelated to extenuating circumstances is typically due to attendance at a fixed-term work placement that supports the research degree; parental leave; or employment commitments (where an employer requires more time than usual to be dedicated to employment).
Students who commenced their studies after 1 August 2016, should submit their request via PGR Manager to submit their request.
Students who commenced their studies prior to this date should complete and submit the SC1 - Special Considerations Request Form or the SC2 - Pause in Study Request Form to their Doctoral College (Faculty) Team.
