Hi, I'm Yuanming Song and  I obtained my BSc of Applied Mathematics from Shanghai Maritime University in 2017 and graduated from University of Southampton in 2019 with distinction in Master of Operational Research and Statistics.

During my undergraduate period, I led a team to improve the high accuracy rendering of 3D ship route by using ellipsoidal projection.

My PhD project sits on the boundary between Data Analytics on the one hand, and Operational Research/ Management Science on the other hand. The area of application is International Maritime Shipping with a view to support decision making about ship selection and performance optimisation in a context of increased environmental performance awareness.

I am under the joint supervision of Dr Patrick Beullens (Decision Analytics & Risk) and Prof Dominic Hudson (Fluid Structure Interactions Group).
