Event details
Southampton BioBlitz is a free event bringing together the local community and nature experts to explore local wildlife.
Southampton BioBlitz is an event for everyone - families, students, staff, and local nature experts come together to explore the animal and plant life on the Highfield campus and adjacent area of the Common.
The first ever Southampton BioBlitz was held in June 2014, with over a hundred people taking part. In 2015 the event returns bigger and better. As well as guided walks searching for bats, birds, butterflies and much more, there will also be face-painting, photography and activities for all the family to enjoy.
If you are interested in helping out on the day, please sign up here .
We are training students to work with local school children in searching for wildlife on their school grounds. Please sign up here if you'd like to be involved. A training session is being held on the 13th May 16.30-17.30 in Building 32 Room 2103.
This event is brought to you in partnership by Southampton City Council, University of Southampton, University of Southampton Students' Union (SUSU) and Southampton Natural History Society.
