Over 300 technicians and technical staff work at Southampton University, forming a diverse community representing every faculty and discipline and underpinning the research, teaching and enterprise activities that make Southampton a world-class university.
The University of Southampton is committed to supporting the recognition, visibility, career development and sustainability of our technical community, focusing on the recruitment, retention, and development of these valuable staff members.
To support these goals The University of Southampton is a signatory of the Technician Commitment and a partner affiliate of the National Technician Development Centre (NTDC)
Recognition Working Group is planning to work hard to raise awareness of technicians, their roles, and their contributions to research, teaching, and enterprise. We will assist and support our colleagues to gain professional registration and HEA fellowship. We would like to increase opportunities for technicians to represent the TAE community at University-wide initiatives.
