Dr Sue Colley, RGN RHV DipNed MA EdD

Dr Sue Colley qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1981 and as a registered Health Visitor in 1983. In 1987 she moved into healthcare education, working as a tutor at the Nightingale and Guy’s College of Health, transferring to a lectureship at King’s College London in 1993. In 1997 Sue was appointed to her first higher education management role as Head of Applied Social Science at the Nightingale Institute, King’s College, London, In 2000 she began work as a policy consultant whilst undertaking her doctoral studies. In 2003, having successfully completed her doctoral thesis on the relationship between Higher Education and the UK National Health Service to support workforce development, Sue relocated to Southampton, accepting a senior position at the University of Southampton.
Sue continues to pursue her academic interests and has received personal scholarships including a Senior Leadership Scholarship awarded by the Florence Nightingale Foundation to develop nursing and healthcare in the 21st century and a personal scholarship awarded by the Said Business School/Green Templeton College, Oxford University to undertake the international ‘Stimulus Leadership Programme’. . Sue is currently a visiting research associate at Green Templeton College, Oxford University.
