Guest speakers

Each of the speakers will draw on their personal experience of studying towards a PhD including the ways they have, or are, overcoming personal struggles such as managing mental health difficulties, balancing family life, coping with the loneliness of writing a thesis and managing PhD travel commitments despite a fear of flying.

All talks are intended to be real and honest, but also are hopeful and positive with a focus on overcoming, so you can expect to come away feeling touched and inspired!

Thank you so much for putting on this wonderful event. I found the whole evening incredibly inspiring. All the speakers were clear and easy to listen to. Each story was very personal and so encouraging to hear how they had managed to come through some very difficult times with such a positive attitude for the future. It made me feel that with the right belief in ourselves and a mindset that says "I can give this a try" we can all accomplish so much.
