Mr Oliver Robinson is a Postgraduate research student within Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of Southampton.

Oliver specialises in the quantifying and reporting of organisational carbon emissions. His main research interests lie in the methods employed to obtain activity data for ‘scope 3’ emissions, arising from activities indirectly influenced by organisations outside of their geographical boundary.

Oliver graduated with a Masters degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of Southampton in 2012, during which time he wrote his undergraduate dissertation on the subject on the governance of carbon management at Russell Group universities; he began his PhD the following academic year.

In his spare time, Oliver is a member of Hampshire Scout Expeditions (HSX), for which he led an expedition to the Himalayas in 2013. He continually leads trips to the mountainous areas of the UK and has also undertaken a number of excursions to the Alps. In 2018, he will be part of the first Scout-led team to ski unsupported to the South Pole on a 700-mile journey across the Antarctic Plateau. In 2014 he won a Sustainability Action Award for his work in Hampshire and the Everest Region of Nepal.
