Hear from our Geography students about their experiences studying at institutions overseas.
While visiting a partner university abroad you will participate fully in the academic and social life of the department concerned: following courses, attending lectures and seminars, and involving yourself in fieldwork. This work is an integral part of your Southampton degree and not an additional element.
Geography students can spend semester 2 of their second year abroad on an exchange. Where you can go depends on the links that we have with other universities around the world. We currently participate in exchanges to several European partners (in France, Germany, Ireland and the Netherlands) under the Erasmus Scheme, as well as exchanges to Australia (Adelaide, Perth, Sydney), Canada (Western University) and Hong Kong. Similarly, we welcome geography students from these partner universities.
Ask your tutor or our International Liaison Officer for more information. The University's International Office also has information on funding, accommodation, the Erasmus scheme and there is an Erasmus Society at the University.
