The University’s policy and supporting guidance on the employment of apprentices has been developed to support University departments and managers who wish to employ apprentices in compliance with the Apprenticeship Levy funding rules. The University will support employment via apprenticeship where there are known succession challenges or a recognised need to develop talent pools of appropriately qualified and skilled employees.
There are two different options for apprentices. Staff Apprenticeships , where the apprentice is employed directly by the University and Flexi-job Apprenticeships where apprentices are employed by an Apprentice Training Agency.
