Hi, I'm Peter Morgan and I studied BA Modern History and Politics within Social Sciences: Politics & International Relations at the University of Southampton.
University taught me that making friends and focusing on what you enjoy are the most important things.
Studying at Southampton is a family affair for Peter Morgan, Almost 30 years after he graduated with a BA Modern History and Politics, his eldest son is an undergraduate at the University.
Following his degree, Peter completed a postgraduate diploma in journalism and joined the BBC where he spent 20 years as a reporter and correspondent. He was business correspondent for BBC TV News for ten years before becoming world affairs correspondent and, finally, the BBC's man in Berlin. After leaving the BBC, he became head of press then group director of communications for BT for five years. He is now director of corporate affairs at Rolls-Royce.
His time at Southampton left Peter with many close friends: "University taught me that making friends and focusing on what you enjoy are the most important things. I made lifelong friends and nurtured an enduring interest in politics and current affairs at Southampton."
