 Entry requirements

This information is for general guidance only; entry requirements vary for different courses. For more specific details, please visit the relevant course web page or contact the admissions office for your chosen subject area .

Foundation year entry requirements

International Foundation Year (progressing to undergraduate degree in management, humanities, arts and social sciences) Year 12 (Lop 12) GPA 7.5 overall with 7.5 in relevant subjects for the chosen undergraduate course.
Year 11 (Lop 11) GPA 8.0 with 8.0 in relevant subjects for the chosen undergraduate course.
Engineering Foundation Year (progressing to undergraduate courses in engineering, physics, computer science and geophysics) Year 12 (Lop 12) GPA 7.5 overall with 8.0 in Maths and a relevant Science-stream subject.
Year 11 (Lop 11) GPA 8.0 overall with 8.5 in Maths and a relevant Science-stream subject.
Science Foundation Year (progressing to undergraduate courses in biology, chemistry and other science-related courses)

Year 12 (Lop 12) GPA 7.5 overall with 8.0 in Maths and a relevant Science-stream subject.
Year 11 (Lop 11) GPA 8.0 overall with 8.5 in Maths and a relevant Science-stream subject.

Please note that this course does not progress to an undergraduate degree in medicine.

Undergraduate entry requirements

To be considered for a place on one of our undergraduate (bachelors) degrees, you will need:

GPA 7.0 in first year of a relevant Vietnamese university degree
Engineering Foundation Year at University of Southampton Malaysia (progressing to MEng Aeronautics and Astronautics, MEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering and MEng Mechanical Engineering)
At least GPA 7.5 in Year 11 or Year 12 plus a foundation programme
High grades in Upper Secondary School Certificate plus a College Diploma or Associate Degree
ABB to A*AA in UK A levels obtained in Vietnam
Between 28 and 38 points in the International Baccalaureate

Postgraduate entry requirements

Masters programmes Bachelors degree (Bằng Tốt Nghiệp Đại Học / Bằng Cử Nhân) awarded by a recognised institution with a GPA of 7.0 out of 10 or 2.8 out of 4.0 (equivalent to UK 2:1).
PhD programmes A strong research proposal, plus GPA 7.0 out of 10 or 2.8 out of 4 in Bachelors and Masters degrees awarded by a Vietnamese university.

English language entry requirements
