BIU in a nutshell
Asummary of who we are and what we do.
The Biomedical Imaging Unit (BIU) is a joint facility of the Faculty of Medicine , University of Southampton and University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS), dedicated to high quality and high resolution imaging by light, electron and X-ray microscopy. We specialise in multidimensional and correlative imaging.
We are located at University Hospital Southampton, some 2 miles from the main University Campus (at Highfield) and provide open access research microscopy support to the Faculty of Medicine, the wider University, other universities, industry and artists. We also provide specialist diagnostic electron microscopy services for UHS and other hospitals in the UK and abroad.
