Singing for Wellbeing

Singing has been shown to boost our immune system, reduce stress levels, improve breathing and deliver many other health benefits. People who sing in groups report that singing lifts their mood, balances the mind, and helps restful sleep. Everyone has their own unique voice. In this gentle and inclusive session, leader Vivien Ellis invites you to discover the healing benefits of finding your own sound, and singing with others.

More about the Dragon Café

Sarah Wheeler will talk about the Mental fight Club, Dragon Café and their role in promoting mental well-being in South-East London, as part of the lunchtime Keynote event. You can also find out more through the links on the right.

Alfie the Labradoodle (Pets as Therapy) will be coming up the back steps into Garden Court in the break between these two workshops. He will be with his owner and on a lead. Unfortunately he's not allowed to walk through Latte's. You may like to say hello to Alfie in the Hartley Room afterwards.

About the Dragon Café

The 'original' Dragon Café is part of the Mental Fight Club based in Southwark, south-east London. It provides a simple, affordable, healthy menu each week, and a wide range of creative and well-being activities, all of which are free and open to everyone.

If you can't make this time...

Could you fit in one of the interactive workshops in the Hartley Room? They include mindfulness practice, movement and breathing, and the mind/body solution.

Or, if you love singing, you could link up with the University of Southampton Voices - no auditions!
