At the University of Southampton we have been proud to welcome many international visiting researchers throughout the University's history. Our visitors enrich the intellectual landscape on campus for staff and students, and as a result of these collaborations the University has forged links with partner institutions globally.
Launching in 2018 this prestigious University Fellowship Award aims to attract the highest calibre academics from our priority partners to collaborate with University of Southampton staff. This award replaces the former Diamond Jubilee International Visiting Fellowships.
Each Fellowship is offered for a three year period to support the development of a collaborative partnership between the Fellow and their University of Southampton host member of staff. Funding is available to support a range of activities that promote research collaboration between individuals and groups at both institutions. During their Fellowship tenure each Fellow will spend a minimum of one month at the University of Southampton.
Future application deadlines, application form and guidance are available here .
All Fellowship candidates must be nominated by a member of University of Southampton staff.
In 2019-20 one new Fellow was appointed. Research collaborations include subject areas from seven Faculties and link to institutions in Australia, Canada, Finland, France, Greece, Hong Kong, Japan, Russia, South Africa and the USA.
See below for details of individual Fellows, their hosts and the Fellowship activities to date.
