BSc Business Analytics

This degree with give you a solid education in business, you’ll gain the specialist skills needed to help organisations understand their customers.

Students will spend three years in Malaysia and graduate with a University of Southampton degree after successful completion.

Introducing your degree

Business Analytics skills are in demand. Your technical skills will be valued by organisations that collect and use large amounts of data.

You’ll develop mathematical skills needed to gain insights from a range of data sources, including the internet and social media.

With this BSc Business Analytics course you can:

  • Gain experience of industry-standard analytics software, including the most commonly used SAS (Statistical Analysis System) package.
  • Learn the fundamentals of programming.
  • Put your knowledge into practice by working on a project to address a real-world industry issue.

Entry Qualifications for Undergraduate Courses

Successful applicants typically have AAB A-levels or equivalent. Offers typically exclude General Studies.

Award Qualification
A-level AAB excluding General Studies, with Mathematics (minimum Grade 6/B) in
GCSE/SPM
IB Diploma Pass with 34 points overall, 17 at Higher Level, including Standard Level/Higher Level in Mathematics (minimum grade 4) or Mathematics in IB MYP (minimum grade 5) or Mathematics (minimum grade 6/B) in GCSE/SPM
STPM A-A-B excluding General Studies, with Mathematics (minimum grade 6/B) in GCSE/SPM
UEC AAAAA, with Mathematics (minimum grade 6/B) in GCSE/SPM/UEC
Foundation Year Foundation Year programmes from the other institutions will be considered on a case-by-case basis

English language requirements

IELTS 6.5 overall, minimum 6.0 in all components or Grade C in SPM 1119 English (cohort before 2021), SPM CEFR Level B2 or above (cohort from 2021 onwards), Grade C in GCSE English, Grade A in IGCSE English as a Second Language, B3 in UEC English or equivalent.

As well as 'A' levels (as awarded in the UK secondary education system) we will accept an equivalent standard in other qualifications approved by the University for entry to our courses.
