Removals from the software download site
iSolutions has a policy that, where applicable, the Software Download site will hold the present and previous version for each application. This is to encourage users to install the latest version of software. The previous version will be kept in the event of any problems. For this reason, it is proposed that the following software will be removed from the site from 2nd March 2009. Should you have any questions or views on this, please contact the ServiceLine on 25656.
SPSS 14 & 15
The installation media for versions 14 & 15 will be removed from the site. The license codes will remain till December 2009, to give time to allow any project work to finish. After December 2009, iSolutions will not be able to obtain installation codes for these versions. iSolutions recommends that SPSS versions 16 & 17 are used for any new installs.
EndNote 10
Currently versions 10, X1 & X2 of Endnote are available for download. It is proposed that EndNote 10 is removed. LabView 8.2. LabView 8.6 has recently been added to the software download site. For this reason LabView 8.2 will be removed. LabView 8.5 will remain.
Visual Studio.NET 2003
At present the download site has 2003, 2005 and 2008 versions of Visual Studio.NET. For this reason iSolutions proposes the removal of 2003.
NVivo 2 & NVivo 6
Both these versions of the software will be removed from the download site. Versions 7 & 8 will remain and iSolutions recommends that version 8 is used for any new installation.
Exceed 10 & 2006
Exceed 10 and 2006 will be removed from the download site. This includes both Connectivity Suite and Exceed 3D. Exceed 2007 & 2008 will remain. Exceed Secure Connectivity Shell has already been removed as the University no longer has a valid license for this software. Users are recommended to use the SSH Secure Shell as an alternative. This is available on the Software download site and through Add/Remove Programs on UDE machines.
